- The dormant volcano Trou aux Cerfs has a distinct cone and crater. It is situated near Curepipe, Mauritius, and is 605 meters high. The crater’s diameter and depth have reportedly fluctuated between 300 and 350 meters.
- The crater lake Ganga Talao, often referred to as Grand Bassin in Mauritius, is situated in the hilly Southwest district of Savanne at a height of roughly 550 meters. A temple and a smattering of little shrines honoring Lord Shiva and other deities are situated close to the water. Due to the leftover offerings by Hindu pilgrims, the lake of Ganga Talao is said to be about 18 meters deep and home to a thriving population of fish and eels. Fishing is strictly prohibited here due to the Ganga Talao lake’s revered status.
- Discover about the Black River Gorges Natural Park, where you may witness numerous threatened and endangered plant and animal species and enjoy the stunning Alexandra waterfalls. The largest protected forest on Mauritius is found in the Black River Gorges National Park. offering more than 50 kilometres of stunning and difficult hiking paths. Whether you prefer a strenuous ascent to the highest mountain or a leisurely stroll through the forest, this is the ideal way to experience Mauritius‘ rich natural beauty. As you continue your exploration, you will come across mesmerizing waterfalls (Alexandra Falls in particular), beautiful rivers, picnic places, huge gorges, and majestic mountain ranges that together provide panoramic views.
- Visit Chamarel, the This waterfall, which is the tallest in Mauritius, cascades down more than 80 meters against a backdrop of luxuriant greenery. An amazing experience is created by the combination of the breathtaking sound of the falling water and the breathtaking view of the waterfall from above.
- You can locate exposed volcanic rocks that are 8–10 million years old, making them some of Mauritius’s oldest lava rocks. The River Saint Denis, which is close to the communities of Cachette, Cascade Chamarel, and La Crete, provides three separate streams of water that combine to produce the waterfall.
